Simon Yeung

PT, BSc, MSc,PhD, JP

Simon was Associate Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has been instrumental in the development of sports physiotherapy in Hong Kong. He has been working as a clinician, educator, researcher and consultant in the areas of physiotherapy and ergonomics for over 30 years. Simon has extensive consultancy experience in the areas of ergonomics and occupational health with government agencies and international corporations. 

Simon is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a visiting professor at the Southern Medical University in China. He was the Award Coordinator of the MSc Sports Physiotherapy program. He is currently a Board member of the Hong Kong Workers' Health Centre, and an executive committee member of The Hong Kong Occupational & Environmental Health Academy. His research work has been supported by the Research Grant Council, Innovation and Technology Fund, Occupational Safety and Health Council, and Health Care Research Committee of the Hospital Authority.

 

Simon has a passion for athletics, and believe sports can change lives. For more than 10 years, Simon partners with Hong Kong Amateur Athletics Association to conduct annual marathon clinic with the aim to promote healthy running to people from all walks of life. He is the Senior Vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, and a member of the Medical Committee of the Asian Athletics Association. He is also a member of Hong Kong Anti-doping Committee, Chairman of the Doping Control Panel and Chief Physiotherapist for Hong Kong Delegates to many major games including the Olympics, Asian, East Asian, and Asian Indoor Games, Sports Federation & Olympic Committee Hong Kong. He is also actively contributing to the sports rehabilitation service in China. He is a Standing Committee member of the China Sport Science Society Sports Medicine branch, Expert Consultant to the China Ministry of Health and Project HOPE rehabilitation medicine training program. He was appointed as Sports Medicine Specialist to the China Olympic Team for the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. 

Simon accepts instructions for medico-legal reports as expert witness involving work-related musculoskeletal disorders or injuries.
